How do we use Nanglo?
Nanglo, as already stated that it is an essential part of the Nepalese kitchen and is used for various purposes. One of the important purposes of Nanglo is to separate dust particles from paddy, rice, dal, beans, and other grains and this process is called winnowing. Still, the people living in the villages in Nepal and also in the northeast part of India (Darjeeling, Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur) follow this process. In the days of yore, our ancestor’s not only used it for winnowing but it was also used as a traditional tray. At religious festivals, people used to put food items and carry them in this bamboo tray as a gift to their neighbors.
